The shrine has fine carved woods and murals which are over 200 years old but still remain the most intact in Thonburi district. Inside enshrines a Guanyin image made from the rare sandalwood which has a pleasant smell.Admire the beauty of Santa Cruz Church, located in the middle of Kudeejeen.Santa Cruz Church built by the Christians who settled in this area. The Christians and Portuguese led by a French priest Brother Jacobe Core were allocated land from King Taksin to establish a community here. They built houses and a small church called Wat Santa Cruz or locally known as “Wat Kudeejeen” following the name of the community. It is the oldest Christian church and also the first Roman-Catholic church in Thonburi district.Try the tasty Kudeejeen bakery (or Khanom Farang Kudeejeen), the local popular cupcakes which look like Thai Egg Dessert (Khanom Khai). They are easy to bake, crispy outside and soft inside with a nice unique smell. This traditional dessert was from the influence of a Thai-Portuguese group of people who settled down in this community and combined the food cultures with the Chinese-believed ingredients. It became popular locally and the Chinese believed that eating these cupcakes will bring peace and happiness to their lives.11.30 am. This antique traditional Thai house is over 100 years old, constructed fully from teak wood and the whole house can be dismantled and reassembled.
